Blogger "Factory Manager is Guan Tongxue" recently posted photos of the Huawei Mate70 series phone cases, revealing key configuration details through the design of the cases. The cases show that the Mate70 series will adopt a centered circular camera design with a straight-edged frame. There's also an opening for the power button, indicating that the series will support side fingerprint recognition.
Combined with previous leaks, the Huawei Mate70 series will support both 3D face recognition and side fingerprint recognition, providing users with a more convenient unlocking method. Reportedly, the Huawei Mate70 series employs a 3D ToF face recognition scheme, constructing 3D depth information by measuring the time required for infrared light pulses to travel from emission to return. This technology offers a faster response compared to the 3D structured light solution.
In terms of the system, the Huawei Mate70 series will debut the all-new pure HarmonyOS. This system no longer uses the previous Linux architecture and is built on a self-developed architecture based on the HarmonyOS kernel, Ark Compiler, ArkTS/ Cangjie compilation languages, etc. The pure HarmonyOS supports HarmonyOS kernel applications but is not compatible with Android APKs.
It's worth noting that the supply chain for the Huawei Mate70 series has begun supplying components, and the internal plan indicates an official release in November.
