Samsung is developing two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold7: standard and a mysterious Q7M
GalaxyClub.nl reported yesterday that Samsung is developing two versions of its foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold7. The media cited sources saying that the Galaxy Z Flip7 is codenamed B7, while the Galaxy Z Fold7 is codenamed Q7. Besides these two standard codenames, they also discovered a third one, Q7M. It is understood that the development of Q7M is in tandem with Q7.
It is currently unclear what Q7M represents. It could be a special edition or a tri-fold (or multi-fold) product similar to Huawei's. More information is yet to be revealed.
Earlier this month, Samsung released the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition foldable phone. Although it does not have the number 6 in its name, it is a special edition based on the Galaxy Z Fold6. The new device is not only Samsung's thinnest and largest foldable phone, but it also has the best camera setup on a Galaxy foldable phone to date. Detailed reports on its configurations can be found in previous articles on IT Home.
The emergence of Q7M has sparked speculation about the future direction of Samsung's foldable phones. Some believe Samsung might be trying to launch a new foldable product line to cater to different user needs. Others speculate that Samsung might be developing a more powerful foldable phone to compete with products from competitors like Huawei.
Whatever Q7M eventually turns out to be, its appearance indicates Samsung is continually exploring the possibilities of foldable phones. With technological advancements and market maturity, we look forward to seeing more astonishing foldable phones from Samsung in the future.
