At the recent launch event and developer conference for Honor MagicOS 9.0, Honor CEO Zhao Ming made bold statements during an interview regarding the AI experience of the iPhone 16 series, sparking industry discussion. He stated bluntly that the iPhone 16 series offers little to no AI experience in China, comparing it to "how we were outmatched in communication capabilities back in the day. When compared to them in the AI experience in China, it's definitely a bit of bullying, an unequal competition."

Zhao Ming's comments come against the backdrop of Honor's unveiling of MagicOS 9.0, which includes a matrix of four large models encompassing language, images, voice, and multimodal capabilities. They also announced the upgrade of YOYO Assistant to YOYO Intelligent Body. The most notable feature of YOYO Intelligent Body is its powerful AI capabilities, enabling pure AI vision and task execution with zero ecosystem adaptation. Honor refers to it as the "self-driving" feature on smartphones.

Zhao Ming believes that Honor has a distinct advantage in AI technology, stating, "Compared to what Apple advertised in June, I felt a bit disappointed. There's a significant gap. Apple didn't deliver on its promises this time."

However, Zhao Ming also acknowledges Apple's clear advantage in terms of fluidity and the fact that there are many areas, including human-computer interaction and security, where Honor can learn from Apple. "From any perspective, Apple is a competitor, an example, that Honor highly respects."

Zhao Ming's remarks have sparked wide-ranging discussions. Some believe that Honor's MagicOS 9.0 indeed demonstrates powerful AI capabilities, especially with YOYO Intelligent Body and its autonomous execution surpassing most existing smartphones on the market. The iPhone 16 series' lackluster AI experience might stem from Apple's long-standing conservative approach to prioritize user experience.

Others argue that Apple's AI technology is not entirely lacking, with its strengths in privacy protection and security being equally noteworthy. The competition between Honor and Apple goes beyond a technological battle; it's also a clash of philosophies.

As AI technology continues to evolve, smartphone manufacturers will engage in even fiercer competition in the AI domain. Honor's MagicOS 9.0 and YOYO Intelligent Body represent a significant breakthrough, paving the way for future smartphone development. We can expect to see more intelligent and user-friendly smartphone products emerge in the near future.
