The Xiaomi 15/Pro smartphones are now available for purchase, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Ultimate Performance processor, starting at 4499 yuan. As Xiaomi's annual flagship, the Xiaomi 15 series has generated considerable interest in its display. TCL Huaxing confirmed in a post tonight that they are supplying the Xiaomi 15 series with two displays: a 6.36-inch 1.5K LTPO straight screen and a 6.73-inch 2K LTPO curved screen.
TCL Huaxing stated that the Xiaomi 15 series displays have experienced an overall power reduction of 24% compared to the previous generation, with the 2K screen of the Xiaomi 15 Pro consuming almost the same power as the 1.5K screen of the Xiaomi 14. This remarkable power reduction is primarily attributed to the M9 luminescent material customized by TCL Huaxing for the Xiaomi 15 series.
It is understood that the M9 material boasts a unique dual-microcavity luminescent structure, tailored for different wavelengths of RGB pixels with corresponding dual-microcavity structures, further refining the light and enhancing luminescence efficiency. Thanks to the integration of M9 material and enhanced processes, the Xiaomi 15 series displays achieve a peak brightness of 3200 nits when illuminated at 25% display area.
It's worth noting that Wang Hua, from Xiaomi, clarified in a post on October 30th that media reports mentioning the 6.36-inch small straight screen solution of the Xiaomi 15 being "exclusively supplied by TCL Huaxing, with Tianma joining the supply chain later" were inaccurate. After thorough verification, it has been confirmed that the Xiaomi 15 series displays are exclusively supplied by TCL Huaxing. Users need not worry about mixed screen use.
TCL Huaxing indicated that they will continue to strengthen innovation research and deepen collaboration with Xiaomi, jointly exploring more advanced display technologies to deliver exceptional and high-quality screen experiences to users.
