vivo officially released the major update of its operating system OriginOS5 in October this year, with the initial batch of beta testing models (including 13 new models like the vivoX100 series and iQOO12 series) having rolled out the update. The most notable new feature in this update is the "Find" network, which uses multiple vivo devices to form a short-range information network. It leverages low-power Bluetooth technology to detect and locate nearby lost devices.

The unique advantage of the "Find" network feature lies in its ability to locate devices even when they are offline or powered off, something traditional location services couldn't achieve. This innovative feature completely breaks the limitations of conventional location functions, providing users with more convenient and comprehensive device recovery assurance.

To ensure user privacy, the geographic location information of the lost device is anonymized and uploaded to the server in encrypted form. This information can only be viewed on trusted vivo devices. vivo is unable to decrypt this location data and will not share it with any third parties.

It's worth mentioning that even after the device is powered off, the "Find" network feature can support location tracking for up to 48 hours, providing users with crucial security protection. Users can enable the "Find Device" and "Find Network" features by going to "Settings > Security > Find" on their phones. If the device does not support this feature, the "Find Network" toggle will not appear in the settings. Currently, the "Find" network feature is supported by some OriginOS5 models, including 13 initial beta testing models such as the vivoX100 and iQOO12.

Besides the "Find" network feature, OriginOS5 has undergone comprehensive upgrades in user interface (UI), lock screen, artificial intelligence (AI), etc. The new system also emphasizes enhanced protection against phone loss, including support for offline/powered off location, remote physical secure deletion, and activation of chip-level protection features, offering users more comprehensive security protection.

The OriginOS5 update further strengthens vivo's dedication to user experience and security protection, providing users with a more convenient and secure mobile experience. As time goes on, OriginOS5 will continue to improve, bringing users a richer and more intelligent operating system experience.
