The shrinking premium is attributed to Huawei's gradual increase in MateXT supply. Due to limited stock for the initial batch of MateXT, Huawei prioritized supply to its directly-operated stores and smart living stores, leaving some top 368 large distributors without stock. This forced many consumers to rely on online flash sales to acquire the MateXT, but the daily 10:08 AM flash sales on Huawei's official website, with its high number of participants, resulted in a low probability of users securing a MateXT.

It's worth noting that, unlike the previous requirement for pre-booking offline experiences, users can now directly visit certain Huawei specialty stores to experience the MateXT. Additionally, some Huawei offline store staff have revealed that "in approximately three months, some offline stores may have stock available." This indicates that Huawei is increasing its market supply of the MateXT, offering more users opportunities to experience and purchase the device.

However, the price and supply of tri-fold phones are still affected by factors like screen, hinge, battery life technology, and UI adaptation. These factors limit the research and development costs and production costs of tri-fold phones, also restricting their rapid increase in supply. Therefore, although the premium on Huawei's MateXT has decreased, its supply remains limited, and users wanting to purchase the phone will need to wait patiently.
