On May 18th, IT Home reported that Porsche recently announced a partnership with Apple,Becoming the second electric vehicle manufacturer to officially deploy AppleMapsEVRouting.
At the WWDC2020 Developer Conference, Apple announced for the first time its support for EVRouting in Apple Maps and revealed that it is collaborating with two car companies, Ford and BMW.
Ford was the first to feature this feature in the Mustang Mach-E model launched last year, but BMW has not yet announced any action in this regard.
Porsche announced this feature in a press release, and the translation section of IT Home is as follows:
Each Taycan is equipped with a Porsche Charging Planner, which can optimize parking based on expected state of charge (SOC) upon arrival, traffic conditions, and your average speed. Drivers can interact with the vehicle through various methods such as AppleMapsEVRoute, providing more options when configuring their itinerary.
Note to IT home: When the Porsche owner turns on the AppleMapsEVRouting function, and your iPhone is connected to the CarPlay car, AppleMaps will track the power of your car and provide detailed navigation directions for road trip. This includes whether you need to stop to charge and the charging time. It will also display your estimated cost when you arrive at your destination.
