Armor Hero Releases BG6 Series PCIe 4.0 SSD: First Product to Adopt 6th Generation BiCSFlash
Kioxia announced the launch of the BG6 series PCIe 4.0 SSD
Kioxia announced the launch of the BG6 series PCIe 4.0 SSD. This is the first product of Armor Xia to use the sixth generation BiCSFLASH3D flash memory, with performance almost 1.7 times that of its previous generation BG5 series SSD. However, only 1TB and 2TB are used, while 256GB and 512GB still use the fifth generation BiCSFLASH3D flash memory.
The BG6 series SSDs come in two exterior specifications, M.22230 and M.22280, which are single sided versions with compact structure and powerful functionality. It adopts a PCIe 4.0x4 interface, supports NVMe 1.4 and basic management commands based on the SMBus protocol, as well as power outage notification function to prevent data from being affected by forced shutdown. It also supports optional security features of the latest TCGPyrite and TCGOpal standards to ensure user data security, and also supports platform firmware recovery function.
The sideband signal range of the new product includes 1.8V and 3.3V to adapt to more platforms, supports HMB technology, and has maximum sequential read and write speeds of 6000MB/s and 5300MB/s, respectively. Additionally, the maximum random read speed is 850KIOPS and the maximum random write speed is 900KIOPS.
Armor Xia stated that the BG6 series SSD fully unleashes the performance of back-end flash memory while maintaining economy and increasing capacity, making it an attractive choice for commercial and consumer laptops and desktops. This product will be sampled in the second half of this year and provided for OEM customer evaluation. In the future, it should also be mainly used as OEM products, and the specific price has not been announced by Armor Xia yet.
