On May 31st, IT Home reported that Gigabyte recently released a brand new external graphics card box - the Aorus RTX4090GamingBox. The product features a liquid cooled RTX4090 graphics card that can be connected to laptops through a Thunderbolt 3/4 interface, providing powerful gaming performance for lightweight laptops.

It is reported that the Aorus RTX4090GamingBox adopts the Aorus Waterforce 240mm AIO cooling scheme, covering the graphics card core, graphics memory, and power supply system on a large copper substrate. It is connected to a heat sink with two 120mm "silent fans" through high durability FEP hoses. In this way, the graphics card can operate at ultra-low temperatures, maintaining high frequency and overclocking potential, while extending its service life.

Gigabyte did not disclose which RTX4090 model this graphics card case is using, but speculated that it may be a modified Aorus RTX4090Xtreme Waterforce. The size of the graphics card box itself is 189x302x172mm, with a mature and atmospheric appearance design, mainly in black color, and only one Aorus RGB logo on the front. To ensure heat dissipation, there are ventilation holes on the top and left and right sides of the graphics card box. The entire graphics card box is powered by an 850W power supply, with a 90% efficiency rating and four 8-pin PCIe power plugs. Gigabyte does not recommend users to replace the graphics card, but it is speculated that it should be possible because Gigabyte uses four 8-pin power plugs instead of the native 16-pin power plugs.

IT Home noticed that in addition to its powerful graphics card, the Aorus RTX4090GamingBox also offers a variety of rear and front interfaces, including three Displayport1.4a interfaces, one HDMI2.1a interface, two USB3.2Gen1Type-A interfaces, one Ethernet interface, and one Thunderbolt 3 interface (which is also compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and USB4). There is also an additional USB3.2Gen1Type-C interface on the front panel. The rear Thunderbolt 3 interface supports up to 100W power transmission and can charge laptops while using graphics cards and other interfaces.

At present, Gigabyte has not announced the price and launch date of the Aorus RTX4090GamingBox. However, Gigabyte's announcement states that the product has already been released, so there should be no need to wait too long.
