On June 5th, it was announced that on World Environment Day, Man Bang Group officially announced the upgrade of its "Man Yun Carbon Road Plan" dual carbon strategy and reached a strategic cooperation with Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications in the dual carbon aspect. They jointly established a joint innovation laboratory and announced the official launch of the blockchain road logistics carbon footprint management platform and the "China's first driver carbon account" system jointly developed by both parties.
It is reported that Man Bang Group has opened a "carbon account" for over 3000 truck drivers, through which drivers can view the carbon assets they have obtained from carrying goods. In order to encourage truck drivers to use the platform for energy conservation and carbon reduction, Man Bang has established a green special fund to distribute corresponding green rights to drivers, mobilize their enthusiasm to reduce "three empty spaces" and improve effective transportation mileage, thereby achieving the goal of carbon reduction and making drivers more and more profitable.
Wang Dong, CTO of Man Bang Group, introduced that the platform has scientifically divided four carbon reduction "baseline lines" based on truck models, vehicle lengths, fuel types, as well as the transportation mileage and cargo weight of drivers, and has preliminarily established a green growth system for truck drivers. For example, truck drivers who reduced carbon emissions by more than 3.5 tons from January to May this year have the highest green credit rating and have been awarded the title of "low-carbon master". According to data from Man Bang, these 3000+drivers can reduce carbon emissions by about 400 tons in a month, equivalent to saving about 150000 liters of diesel.
Guo Langbo, President of Manbang Group, stated that as an important supply of transportation capacity, truck drivers create visible and redeemable "carbon accounts" for them. This is to reduce carbon emissions in the highway freight industry from the industry operation side (supply side) and promote carbon reduction in the transportation sector. This is also the difference between Manbang's "carbon accounts" and the "carbon accounts" currently launched by many platforms, mainly on the consumer side (demand side).
It is understood that this "carbon account" targeting the truck driver community is based on the application of blockchain technology in vehicle cargo matching scenarios, making the carbon assets of truck drivers collectible, quantifiable, visualized, and non tampering with data elements. In the future, it can also provide core data support for platform carbon asset accounting, carbon certification, carbon trading, etc.
Man Bang will collaborate with governments, universities, car companies, and others to explore digital scenarios and optimize and upgrade transportation organization models, create a one-stop green transportation capacity service platform, further improve the efficiency of vehicle cargo matching, and help the industry gradually reduce the idle driving rate to below 20%. At the same time, it will accelerate the promotion of new energy vehicles, provide incentives for new energy vehicle drivers to view, receive orders, and charge, and help the industry increase the proportion of new energy vehicles to over 20%.
According to Manbang calculations, in 2022, nearly ten million truck drivers completed a transportation turnover of over 100 billion tons per kilometer on the Manbang platform, resulting in a cumulative carbon reduction of 12 million tons, equivalent to saving drivers over 4.6 billion liters of diesel.
