According to the news, Apple is the largest customer of TSMC's N3E technology and plans to equip the iPhone 16 model that will be launched next year.
Apple is equipped with A17Pro chips using the N3B (3nm) process on the iPhone 15Pro and iPhone 15ProMax models, while the upcoming N3E will further reduce costs, improve yield, enhance chip performance, and energy efficiency.
DiGiTimes believes that TSMC has started mass production of the N3E process and plans to fully transition to this process next year. All industry giants except Samsung will adopt the N3E process. Apple has become TSMC's most important customer and has confirmed its order commitment.
Earlier this year, Apple obtained nearly 90% of TSMC's 3nm chip production capacity. According to the latest news, due to Intel's adjustment of CPU design schedule, Apple expects to obtain 100% of TSMC's production capacity by 2023.
