On November 7th, KuaiTech reported that according to the official introduction of "Huawei China", China Unicom and Huawei have recently helped Great Wall Precision Automation launch the commercial phase of the 5G-A ultra-high reliability and ultra-low latency flexible production line.
It is reported that traditional industrial control relies on wired networks to achieve equipment series connection and control.
The long-term wear and tear of communication cables in mobile application scenarios such as robotic arms, sliding platforms, and turntables leads to production interruptions, resulting in an average annual shutdown of about 60 hours.
The high reliability and low latency characteristics of the 5G-A network make it suitable for high-end core manufacturing processes that require high response speed.
After implementing the replacement of industrial network wireless, the wired constraints have been fundamentally eliminated.
According to the official WeChat account of "Baoding Release", in June this year, the 5G-A flexible trial production line experiment was successful.
Yuan Zhanjiang, Deputy General Manager of the Industrial Intelligence Business Unit of Great Wall Precision Automation, stated that currently, commercial 5G can only achieve the indicators of 20ms delay and 99.99% stability, which cannot meet the industrial control requirements.
Applying 5G-A to the production line, after verification, it can currently achieve the performance indicators of 4ms delay and 99.999% stability.
That is to say, it only takes 4ms for the device to send instructions to reach the device end, and it can operate stably without dropping wires under such high-speed operation.
It is understood that 5G-A, also known as 5.5G or 5G-Advanced, is an advanced version of 5G.
The 5.5G era advocated by Huawei is an end-to-end solution that includes comprehensive evolution and upgrades such as 5.5G, F5.5G, and Net5.5G.
It will bring a 10 times improvement in network performance, achieving peak capacity of 10 Gigabit for downlink and 10 Gigabit for uplink.
Gan Bin, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei Wireless Network Product Line, stated in an interview that 5G-A is not only an evolving technology of 5G, but also a part of 5G. Under the traction of market demand, gradually moving towards commercial use is an inevitable trend.
