Despite the highly anticipated "Apple Intelligence" feature not being available until a few weeks after the release of iOS 18, Apple reportedly has no plans to delay the annual iPhone 16 update. This means the newest iPhone lineup will arrive as scheduled in mid-September, though one of its key features, Apple Intelligence, may be absent at launch.

Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman pointed out that the first feature of Apple Intelligence only appeared in the first developer beta of iOS 18.1 and was not included in the beta versions of iOS 18. While introducing iOS 18, Apple differentiated the basic functionalities for most iPhone models from the Apple Intelligence feature, which currently only works on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

Although all iPhone 16 models are expected to leverage some functionalities of the Apple Intelligence system at launch, Apple has remained tight-lipped about the full roll-out of the feature. This implies that while iPhone 16 users might be able to experience some aspects of Apple Intelligence, the complete implementation may take some time.

Similar to the iPhone 16, the initial releases of iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia will not include Apple Intelligence. The feature will become operational in the first major updates of these versions.

It is worth noting that Apple previously postponed the iPhone 4S launch to October 13 years ago because major iCloud and Siri features were not ready. However, this time, the iPhone 16 series is expected to release as usual in mid-September.

Currently, the iOS 18.1 beta includes new writing tools, summarization features, recording and transcription options, and enhancements to the Siri experience. The highly anticipated Genmoji and ChatGPT integration feature are expected to be rolled out in subsequent beta versions.

The full implementation of Apple Intelligence is expected to take place over the remainder of 2024, with some functionalities potentially being completed by early 2025.

This means that while the iPhone 16 will release as planned, the full Apple Intelligence experience may be delayed. Users eager to experience the feature may need to exercise patience. However, Apple's emphasis on Apple Intelligence during its announcement suggests that the feature will be a significant component of future devices like the iPhone.
