Choi emphasized that production scale, technology, and partnerships with customers are crucial factors in enhancing ITOLED competitiveness. Samsung Display is a major supplier of mobile OLED panels, with its products used in Samsung Electronics' Galaxy smartphones and Apple's iPhones. For the upcoming iPhone 16 series, Samsung Display is expected to provide Apple with four different types of OLED panels.

To meet the growing demand, Samsung Display has been expanding its production capacity. By 2026, the company will invest 4.1 trillion won (approximately 21.57 billion yuan) to build a new 8.6-generation OLED production line, capable of producing 10 million laptop panels annually. Choi responded, "The ITOLED business is just getting started, and our large-scale 8.6-generation production line is about to go into operation."

This move by Samsung Display indicates its active pursuit of expanding its OLED panel market share in the IT device sector. By partnering with chip giants like Intel and Qualcomm, Samsung Display can better integrate hardware and software resources, developing more competitive products. Additionally, the launch of the new production line will further boost Samsung Display's production capacity, enabling it to better meet market demand.

Currently, OLED panels have achieved significant success in the smartphone sector, but their application in IT devices like laptops and tablets is still in its early stages. Samsung Display's strategic deployment will accelerate the adoption of OLED panels in IT devices, bringing new development opportunities to the entire industry.

Besides Samsung Display, other panel manufacturers like LG Display and BOE are also increasing their investments in OLED panels. In the future, OLED panels will play an increasingly important role in display technology, providing consumers with a superior viewing experience.
