The media outlet used the DeviceInfoHW application and found that all four models - Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold - are equipped with the new Exynos 5400 modem.
The baseband is shown as "g5400c", which corresponds to the Exynos Modem 5400, while the Google Pixel 7 Pro has a part number of "g5300q", which corresponds to the older Exynos Modem 5300.
Compared to the Exynos Modem 5300 found in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series, the Exynos Modem 5400 in the Pixel 9 series is faster, more efficient, and also supports satellite connectivity.
Citing Samsung Semiconductor's official website, IT Home reports that the Exynos Modem 5400 is based on 3GPP Release 17 and provides speeds up to 14.79 Gbps (compared to 10 Gbps for the 5300).
