As the specifications of Apple's new phone have been "dug up," the leaksters have turned their attention to another unknown realm leaking Apple's invitation ahead of time. On Monday, American tech media cited social media leaks claiming that Apple's fall product launch will be held on September 10th. The leak also included a screenshot of the alleged "event invitation," with a blurry Apple logo that seemed to hint at a new "desert gold" color. The event theme, "Ready. Set. Capture.," likely corresponds to the new "capture" button added to this year's phone.

While the authenticity of the invitation itself is difficult to verify (Apple never responds to such rumors), historical patterns and information from other well-known leakers confirm the likelihood of September 10th. Mark Gurman, a well-known Apple leaker, stated in his PowerOn newsletter last Sunday that sources told him Apple's new Los Angeles store is gearing up for a grand opening the week of September 16th. The interesting aspect of this timing is that Apple enjoys opening stores right when new products are released. Following past patterns, Apple would hold its launch event on September 10th, open pre-orders on Friday (September 13th), and the new iPhone would officially launch a week later (September 20th), coinciding with the Los Angeles store opening.

As anticipated, alongside the four new iPhones, consumers are eagerly awaiting the new AirPods, which are expected to debut in September. The Apple Watch series will also receive an update.

What do we know about the iPhone 16? Although there are still about three weeks left before the launch of the new iPhone, the details about the new phone have already been leaked. This explains why the leaksters are even targeting the invitation.

Based on AppleHub's compilation of various leaks, all four new iPhones will upgrade to the A18 and A18Pro chips with a TSMC N3E process to run "Apple intelligence." All four phones will have 8GB of RAM, as this is the minimum requirement for AI operation. The two Pro phones will have larger screens, 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. However, due to narrower bezels, the actual increase in size and weight of the phones will be negligible. The 120Hz high refresh rate screen will remain exclusive to the Pro models.

In terms of appearance, the most noticeable change is the vertical arrangement of the cameras on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, designed for capturing spatial videos for VisionPro. The Action button (originally the silent switch) will become standard across the entire lineup. There's still debate around the upcoming "capture" button on the 16 series, which mimics a DSLR camera button a light press for auto focus and a hard press to take a photo. Some sources claim this button will only appear on the Pro models, while other analysts believe it will be standard across all four phones.

The most widely reported change is the upgraded cameras on the two Pro models. Besides improvements to the main and ultra-wide-angle lenses, the iPhone 16 Pro will also feature the periscope telephoto lens previously exclusive to the Pro Max model. The iPhone 16 Pro Max's battery capacity will increase by 5.7% to 4676 mAh, setting a new record for iPhone battery capacity. Finally, the new Pro models will come in a "desert gold" color, the same one rumored to be on the leaked invitation. The current titanium blue color may be discontinued.
