The upcoming Apple iPhone 16 series also shows limited progress in battery capacity. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will see a jump from 4441 mAh to 4676 mAh, representing a 5.2% increase. The iPhone 16 Pro will increase from 3274 mAh to 3577 mAh, a 9.2% increase in capacity. The standard iPhone 16 will see minimal changes, staying below 4000 mAh.

In contrast, Chinese phone makers have witnessed a rapid surge in battery capacity. The upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 flagship phones launching in the latter half of the year will mostly feature batteries around the 6000 mAh mark. In the 1000 to 3500 Yuan market segment, batteries have become a major selling point, with 5500 mAh batteries being a standard feature. Phones with 6000 mAh to 6500 mAh batteries are quite common, and some even reach the 7000 mAh "big battery" category.

In terms of fast charging technology, Chinese phone makers hold an even more pronounced advantage. Realme has introduced 320W fast charging capabilities, fully charging a phone in under 5 minutes. Apple and Samsung, on the other hand, are slowly but surely "squeezing out" their fast charging technology. Channel sources reveal that both companies haven't shown any intention to significantly improve battery life in their recent two generations of products.
