Bloomberg reported today (August 20) that Apple will mass-produce the iPhone 16 Pro model in India for the first time, marking a significant step in the company's efforts to diversify its iPhone supply chain. Previously, IT Home reported that Apple plans to expand its production lines in India through Foxconn and will be offering assembly services for Pro series iPhones in India for the first time, including the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and ProMax models.
Sources revealed, "Apple has been looking to deepen its manufacturing capabilities with Indian partners each year, and producing Pro models has been something they've considered for the past few years. This year, Apple will manufacture Pro and ProMax models in India to ensure that India-assembled iPhone 16 Pro models are available in India after launch."
According to the latest Bloomberg report, Foxconn's factory in Tamil Nadu, southern India, has begun training thousands of workers to prepare for mass production of the higher-end Pro models in advance of Apple's iPhone 16 series launch in September.
