A new Samsung phone with the model number SM-S721U was spotted on Geekbench on August 21st, featuring a downclocked version of the Exynos 2400 processor. The new processor utilizes a 1+2+3+4 core design, with the super core Cortex-X4 clock speed reduced from 3.2GHz to 3.11GHz, while the frequencies of other CPU cores remain unchanged.
According to Geekbench benchmark data, this new Samsung phone scored 1996 in single-core and 5678 in multi-core performance. For reference, the Samsung Exynos 2400 achieves over 2000 in single-core and approximately 7000 in multi-core. Although the downclocked Exynos 2400 sees some performance decline, it still surpasses many competitors.
Previous leaks suggest that this new device is likely to be the Galaxy S24 FE, equipped with the Exynos 2400e chip, a 4564mAh battery, a flat screen design, and is expected to launch in October.
Overseas media has revealed promotional material for the Galaxy S24 FE, showcasing five available colors: blue, black, graphite, green, and yellow. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 FE boasts a 6.7-inch 120Hz display with a peak brightness of 1900 nits.
Beyond its powerful hardware specifications, the Galaxy S24 FE comes pre-loaded with various Galaxy AI features like Object Recognition, PortraitStudio, GenerativeEdit, SketchtoImage, and LiveTranslate, aiming to provide users with a more intelligent and convenient mobile experience.
Samsung is expected to formally announce the Galaxy S24 FE in the coming months, at which point we can expect more detailed information, including pricing and availability.
