As the popularity of Huawei smartphones continues to rise, news about the HarmonyOS NEXT version, the Huawei Mate70 series, and other upcoming devices keeps emerging. The addition of new products like the tri-folding screen phone and the Nova 13 series has generated even more anticipation among consumers. Recently, some exciting news has emerged, the most notable being the leak of the WeChat HarmonyOS NEXT version and its system push schedule.

From the HarmonyOS NEXT WeChat version, it's clear that the HarmonyOS operating system is actively expanding its ecosystem, attracting numerous developers. According to market reports, over 2.54 million developers have joined the HarmonyOS development world, with 4.35 million people participating in the HarmonyOS Academy. More than 5,000 commonly used applications have started developing their HarmonyOS native versions, with over 1,500 already launched, covering social, finance, office, lifestyle, entertainment, and other areas. Additionally, various top-tier central and state-owned enterprise internal office applications and popular apps are actively pushing forward with HarmonyOS adaptation.

Recently, online leaks have surfaced, allegedly showcasing the pure HarmonyOS NEXT WeChat version, featuring screenshots of the WeChat interface. The interface displays a very simple layout with "Feature under development" messages, starkly contrasting with our expectations for a mature social app like WeChat and the HarmonyOS system.

However, as we know, technology products typically undergo strict confidentiality measures before their launch, leaving the authenticity of this news in question. Nonetheless, I believe WeChat will inevitably adapt to HarmonyOS, and this current stage may simply be an optimization phase. Every new product launch requires a process from initial conception to gradual refinement. Early test versions often prioritize core functionality implementation and stability testing rather than showcasing every feature. Therefore, the "basic features" might be characteristic of the current development stage of the HarmonyOS NEXT WeChat version, not its final form.

Of course, many users believe a simplified WeChat is appealing, but when WeChat officially launches on HarmonyOS NEXT, it should boast significant functional enhancements. After all, WeChat has been around for years, and a lacking version could spark considerable debate in the mobile market.

In the face of such leaks, the wisest course of action is to await confirmation from official channels, as only official information is accurate and authoritative.

Beyond the WeChat version news, there are also rumors circulating about the HarmonyOS NEXT version. Apparently, the HarmonyOS NEXT Beta for the Mate60 series and the Pura70 series is expected to launch on August 31, 2024. However, this is only a projected date, and the actual release may be adjusted due to various factors.

Previously, there were reports that the commercial version of HarmonyOS NEXT would be released on September 24th, so we need to wait patiently for now. But it's safe to say that the consumer version will be pushed out before the end of August, as the official channels have announced this, and it's unlikely to be delayed.
