Recently, rumors have been circulating online about the Xiaomi Redmi K80 series of phones adopting a "pop-up camera" design, accompanied by a "teaser image." In response, Wang Teng, Deputy General Manager of Xiaomi's China Marketing Department and General Manager of the Redmi brand, denied the rumors on Weibo, stating: "We won't do pop-up. It has a too big impact on the overall design. Everyone is used to the form of hole-punch cameras, right?"

In the Weibo post that Wang Teng forwarded, blogger "Li Angangang" also questioned the rumor, saying: "... Netizens' imaginations are quite big, they can come up with a mechanical structure pop-up design that affects the thickness of the phone. Mainstream brands at the end of this year and next year will not have any so-called pop-up structure front camera new phones. This rumor did not come out of thin air.
