Xiaomi officially announced today that it has updated the "Chat and Social Category Industry Qualification Requirements" for its App Store. New qualification requirements have been introduced for developers of internet phone apps, requiring them to meet all three of the following conditions:

1. Telecommunications Value-added Telecommunications Business Operating License (with business category including domestic multi-party communication services): This license is a qualification certificate issued by the state to businesses engaged in value-added telecommunications services, ensuring that the business operates legally and in compliance with regulations.

2. ICP Certificate or ICP Filing Screenshot: The ICP Certificate or ICP Filing is a necessary condition for websites or applications to access the internet, proving that the application operates legally on the network.

3. "Computer Software Copyright Certificate", "APP Electronic Copyright Certificate" or "Software Copyright Certification Certificate" (one of the three): This certificate proves the developer's copyright ownership of the software, protecting its intellectual property and maintaining market order.

Xiaomi stated that this standard update will be publicly announced today (August 29, 2024) for a period of 14 days. Starting from September 12, 2024, the Xiaomi App Store will strictly implement this standard and conduct relevant checks on apps in the store. This means that internet phone apps that do not meet the above-mentioned qualification requirements will not be able to continue to be listed or updated on the Xiaomi App Store.
