Qualcomm announced its new Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor on September 1st, fabricated using Samsung's 4nm process technology. Codenamed SM6475-AB, this processor features a configuration of 4x 2.40GHz Cortex-A78 cores and 4x 1.80GHz Cortex-A55 cores, paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. Compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 boasts a considerable performance leap: CPU performance is up by 10%, GPU performance sees a 30% increase, and AI performance gains over 20%.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 achieved scores of 930 in single-core and 2751 in multi-core on the Geekbench 6 benchmark, while scoring 613 on 3DMark Wildlife Extreme. It's clear that the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 will deliver even more impressive results in performance tests.
Beyond its performance boost, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 also supports Wi-Fi 6E, achieving speeds up to 2.9Gbps. It incorporates Bluetooth 5.2, UFS3.1, and USB 3.1, providing users with faster network speeds, more stable connectivity, and a smoother user experience.
Qualcomm stated that the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 will primarily power mid-range and entry-level devices. We can anticipate the arrival of new smartphones equipped with this processor in the coming months, bringing users powerful performance and a richer feature set.
