IT Home, September 2nd: The Gold Alliance (Mobile Intelligent Terminal Ecosystem Alliance) today issued a notice regarding the delisting of 32-bit only apps. The notice reads as follows:

Gold Alliance Announces: Removal of 32-bit Only Apps Starting September 2nd

Dear Developers,

In order to better enhance the Android app compatibility experience and ensure that apps in app stores can provide users with safer, more efficient, and better services, Gold Alliance members OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi have decided to start delisting 32-bit only apps from their app stores starting today (September 2nd).

We recommend that you complete 64-bit adaptation as soon as possible to ensure the normal operation of your app.

As of August 23, 2024, the full adaptation rate of OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, and Lenovo's four software stores has reached over 99.29%. There are still over 4,000 (99% off-shelf) key apps that affect users' daily life and have not yet adapted to 64-bit, which has decreased by over 100 compared to the previous month.

This delisting decision by the Gold Alliance aims to promote the healthy development of the Android app ecosystem and provide users with a safer and more efficient app experience. Developers need to complete 64-bit adaptation as soon as possible to ensure that their apps can continue to run normally in app stores.

In recent years, with the continuous improvement of mobile device hardware performance, 64-bit apps have gradually become mainstream. 64-bit apps can better utilize hardware resources, improve operating efficiency, and enhance security. Therefore, Gold Alliance members have decided to delist 32-bit only apps to promote the Android app ecosystem toward a more efficient and secure 64-bit era.

For developers who have not yet completed 64-bit adaptation, it is recommended that they complete the adaptation work as soon as possible. Gold Alliance members will also provide necessary technical support and assistance to ensure that developers can successfully complete adaptation.

The release of this delisting notice marks the arrival of the 64-bit era for the Android app ecosystem. Gold Alliance members will continue to work towards the healthy development of the Android app ecosystem and provide users with a better app service experience.
