Apple today released visionOS2 Developer Preview Beta 9 (build number: 22N5319a) to VisionPro users. The update arrives six days after the last Beta/RC release. Please note that some regions may experience a slight delay in detecting the update due to server caching issues. This delay should not exceed half an hour.

visionOS2 brings a plethora of new features, the most notable being the ability to extract depth information from 2D photos and transform them into 3D photos using advanced machine learning. This feature aims to add depth to photos, making memories feel more immersive, according to Apple.

Besides the 3D photo feature, visionOS2 also optimizes the Home View and Control Center. Users can now activate these features using new gestures, and the Home View is now customizable, allowing users to rearrange applications based on their preferences.

Travel mode has been enhanced to include train support, meaning users can now watch movies, play games, or read ebooks on trains using the VisionPro headset without experiencing motion sickness caused by the swaying motion.

For guest users, visionOS2 brings a new feature: guest user profiles can now be saved for 30 days, eliminating the need for guests to set up the headset every time they use it. This will make it easier for users to share the headset with friends and family, allowing them to experience the charm of visionOS.

VisionPro headset users can access the "Settings" app on their device, switch to "Developer Beta", and download the visionOS test version. However, a developer account is required, and Apple recommends backing up the device before installing the update.
