Huawei MateXT Extraordinary Master: Dual Folding Hinge Design, Three-Screen Experience Ushers in a New Era
On September 10th, Huawei will host its "See the Extraordinary" brand gala, officially launching its highly anticipated HarmonyOS intelligent travel products. Among the highlights of this gala is undoubtedly Huawei's groundbreaking triple-folding screen phone - the Huawei MateXT Extraordinary Master.
Huawei Terminal officially released the appearance information of this triple-folding screen phone, confirming the previous rumors about its dual folding hinge design. From the official images, Huawei MateXT Extraordinary Master's triple-folding screen phone closely resembles existing foldable phones in terms of design, but it features an additional foldable screen area and a folding hinge, making the overall design more unique.
When folded, the back panel design of Huawei MateXT Extraordinary Master is similar to that of Huawei Mate60RS Extraordinary Master, featuring a polygonal camera module in black with a metallic decorative frame surrounding it. It is speculated that the back shell is made of vegan leather, with a vertical metallic "HUAWEI ULTIMATE DESIGN" logo visible below the camera module. On the other side of the back shell is the "Designed & Crafted by HUAWEI". The sides and hinge of the device feature a golden frame design, with the power button and volume control buttons located on one side.
Zooming in on the camera module area, you can see a multi-camera arrangement, including what appears to be a rectangular periscope telephoto lens. The "XMAGE" logo, exclusive to Huawei's mobile imaging, can also be seen, which has been featured in recent generations of Huawei flagship products.
In addition to the official red version, a photo of Huawei Executive Director and Chairman of Terminal BG, Yu Chengdong, holding a triple-folding screen phone revealed a black and gold color scheme. This suggests that the new Huawei MateXT Extraordinary Master will be available in at least two color and design options.
Looking at previously leaked photos of the device in its expanded form, its size is close to that of a tablet. The left screen displays a message list, while the middle and right screens seem to display other split-screen browsing content. This indicates that Huawei MateXT Extraordinary Master has undergone a completely new design and planning for split-screen operation, offering potentially more usage scenarios than existing foldable devices.
Based on current leaks, it is predicted that Huawei's first triple-folding screen product will be positioned in the ultra-high-end segment, likely exceeding the starting price of existing Huawei foldable devices. Considering the current Huawei foldable devices, the Huawei MateX5 series starts at 12,999 yuan (standard version 12GB+256GB), with a top price of 16,999 yuan (collector's edition 16GB+1TB version). This suggests that the new Huawei MateXT Extraordinary Master will be priced above 12,999 yuan.
Yesterday, the Huawei MateXT Extraordinary Master triple-folding phone was opened for pre-order, with official sales commencing on September 20th at 10:08. As of this writing, the number of reservations on the Huawei website has exceeded 2.23 million.
Based on the available information, Huawei's new triple-folding screen phone is expected to arrive soon. With its arrival, the entire smartphone market will witness a new category. Interested users are encouraged to stay tuned.
