The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 boasts Qualcomm's proprietary Oryon CPU architecture, completely abandoning the previous design based on Arm's generic solutions. This significant change is largely attributed to NUVIA, founded by Gerard Williams III, a former key chip designer at Apple, who participated in the design of the Apple A13 and M1 chips.
