Huawei's MateXT Master Edition Tri-Folding Phone Released, Lacks Multi-Device Task Transfer Support

IT Home, September 11 - Huawei's first tri-folding phone, the MateXT Master Edition, was officially released yesterday. The phone comes in two color options: Rui Red and Xuan Black, and pre-installed with HarmonyOS 4.2.

However, IT Home has noticed that the Huawei MateXT Master Edition tri-folding phone doesn't support the multi-device task transfer feature of HarmonyOS. Users cannot drag and drop applications to other devices. This limitation has attracted considerable attention from users, as multi-device task transfer is one of the core features of HarmonyOS.

Huawei's official website indicates that some foldable phones do not support multi-device task transfer in HarmonyOS 3.0 and later versions. The specific models are as follows:

  • HUAWEIMateX

 Huawei

  • HUAWEIMateXs
  • HUAWEIMateXs2
  • HUAWEIMateX3
  • HUAWEIMateX5

 Huawei

  • HUAWEIMateXT

It remains unclear why Huawei has removed multi-device task transfer from these foldable phones. Speculations suggest that the unique structure and software optimization of foldable phones may hinder the implementation of this feature.

For those who were anticipating using multi-device task transfer on the Huawei MateXT Master Edition, this is undoubtedly a disappointment. However, Huawei has stated that they will continuously optimize HarmonyOS and strive to bring more features and experiences to users.

Currently, Huawei has not officially announced any plans regarding whether they will add multi-device task transfer to these foldable phones in the future. However, we can expect that with the continuous development of HarmonyOS, Huawei might introduce more feature optimizations tailored for foldable phones in the future, offering users a more convenient operational experience.
