Apple today officially began accepting pre-orders for all four new iPhone 16 models, but surprisingly, delivery estimates for many configurations of the iPhone 16 Pro Max on Apples online store in the US have already begun to slip into early October. As of 5:45 AM Pacific Time, select iPhone 16 Pro Max configurations are facing up to 2-3 week shipping delays on the Apple online store.
At press time, the smaller iPhone 16 Pro, as well as the lower-end iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, are largely still available to ship on their September 20th (Friday) release date. However, as time goes on, inventory for both delivery and Apple Store pickup will inevitably continue to tighten, so if youre planning to order, do so ASAP.
The iPhone 16 Pro models feature a number of new features, including larger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays with thinner bezels, longer battery life, a new camera control button for quick access to camera features, a 48MP ultrawide camera, a faster A18 Pro chip, support for Wi-Fi 7, faster 5G, faster charging speeds, and more. Both devices also support Apple Intelligence, which will begin rolling out in October with iOS 18.1.
