It is understood that HarmonyOS NEXT is the first major version of HarmonyOS to completely abandon the Linux kernel and Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code. It only supports HarmonyOS kernel and HarmonyOS applications and is no longer compatible with Android applications. This bold innovation means that HarmonyOS NEXT will fully embrace independent research and development, creating a separate and complete ecosystem.
