On August 17, 2024, Apple officially pushed the iOS 18 update to iPhone users. However, the highly anticipated Apple Intelligence feature was not pre-installed in this release. In response, Apple stated that the feature is expected to be introduced to iOS 18 through an update in October 2024. Unfortunately, only the US English version will initially support Apple Intelligence, and mainland China iPhones will not be supported at launch.
Apple Intelligence was first announced at the WWDC developer conference on June 11th of this year. It is a new writing tool designed to assist users in finding the right words while writing, regardless of location. Additionally, Apple Intelligence features priority notifications, which display important messages at the top of the stack for quick access to crucial information.
Beyond writing and notification enhancements, the integration of Apple Intelligence will significantly improve Siri's conversational abilities. With this feature, Siri will be able to engage in more natural conversations, better understand user context, and offer contextually relevant dialogue experiences.
Although Apple Intelligence will become available in the future, the timeline for mainland China iPhones to receive this feature remains unclear. Users in China who are eager to experience Apple Intelligence will have to patiently await further announcements from Apple.
