This afternoon, Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, announced on Weibo that the company has publicly released the specifications for magnetic phone cases for OPPO/OnePlus phones. This move aims to create a standardized and accurate magnetic ecosystem, providing users with more high-quality options.

This initiative stems from user feedback regarding the limited number of third-party phone cases available for OnePlus devices. In his Weibo post, Li Jie explained the reason: third-party manufacturers lacked access to accurate specifications, leading to cases that didn't perfectly fit the phones. To address this, OnePlus decided to publicly release the specifications for magnetic cases, providing third-party manufacturers with accurate data references to guide them in producing better cases.

The released specifications include the magnet configuration of the case, as well as the parameters for the case and the built-in magnets. Notably, the magnets must be embedded in the case. To ensure magnetic strength and production feasibility, the distance between the magnets and the outer surface of the case should be 0.4mm. Additionally, the magnetic shielding plate should be positioned closer to the phone's side, while the magnetic attraction should be closer to the outer surface of the case. This standard applies to the production of magnetic cases for OPPO phones, including materials, externally sourced components, designated process-processed components, and mold processing.

In response to user requests for "more Kevlar, bamboo, and sandalwood (material) series of phone cases," Li Jie stated on Weibo, "Ok, I'll pass this on to the product manager."

The release of magnetic case specifications by OnePlus not only provides users with more choices but also establishes a standardized framework for third-party manufacturers, fostering a healthy and orderly magnetic ecosystem.
