Apple's Fifth Avenue Apple Store Illuminates "AppleIntelligence" for iPhone 16 Launch, But Lines Remain Sparse
To celebrate the official launch of the iPhone 16 series, Apple's Fifth Avenue Apple Store illuminated its iconic glass cube with "AppleIntelligence" colored lights. In addition to this "AppleIntelligence" light show, the cube also featured stickers that read "iPhone 16" and "Hello Apple Intelligence."
This isn't the first time Apple has transformed its Fifth Avenue store to highlight a new product. Earlier this year, Apple placed a giant VisionPro on top of the cube to promote its release.
Despite all the iPhone 16 marketing showcasing Apple intelligence features, these AI capabilities won't be available until next month with the release of iOS 18.1, and more advanced features like enhanced Siri, Genmoji, and ImagePlaygrounds will still be unavailable.
Renowned Apple analyst Mark Gurman took to social media platform X to ask users to share local queueing situations. IT Home checked X and discovered that Apple Store retail store lines were not very long.
Besides Sydney, queueing numbers are also sparse in locations like the US Fifth Avenue, Japan, and others. For example, in Tokyo, Berlin, and Melbourne, lines were limited.
It's worth noting that though the iPhone 16 series boasts new Apple intelligence features, they're not fully unlocked yet. This might be one reason for the sparse lines. On the other hand, the smartphone market has become intensely competitive in recent years, with consumer enthusiasm for new models waning.
In conclusion, while Apple's Fifth Avenue Apple Store held a grand celebration for the iPhone 16 series, the reality of sparse lines cannot be ignored. This might reflect a decline in consumer anticipation and excitement for the new models.
