Renowned Apple leaker Mark Gurman has recently stated that Apple is planning to update the iPhone SE early next year, potentially releasing it alongside an upgraded iPad. According to Gurman, sources have revealed that Apple is currently producing the iPhone SE, codenamed "V59," which will be the latest entry-level model. Notably, the last iPhone SE update was in 2022, when Apple added 5G capabilities.

Gurman's leak also mentions Apple's plans to release a new iPad Air and accompanying keyboard around the same time. He suggests that the new iPhone SE will drop the Home button design and adopt a bezel-less screen.

Media analysts believe that the iPhone SE upgrade will aid Apple in competing in the low-end smartphone market. Currently, Apple is facing pressure from Android phones. In the US, the iPhone SE is priced at $429, and in China, it costs 3499 yuan, which is more expensive than many competitors. Leaks suggest that the new SE phone will have a design similar to the iPhone 14, featuring a notch at the top of the screen. In contrast, the current SE (third generation) closely resembles the iPhone 8. Analysts believe that if Apple can make the SE model look more like a premium phone, it should help attract cost-conscious consumers.

Gurman claims that the new SE phone is expected to support Apple's upcoming personal intelligence system, Apple Intelligence, which will be rolled out to the latest iPhone 16 and last year's iPhone 15 this month.

Besides the iPhone SE, Gurman also mentioned that Apple plans to launch new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models early next year, internally codenamed "J607" and "J637," respectively, and equip them with Magic Keyboards "R307" and "R308." Additionally, a new iPad mini, codenamed "J410," is in the pipeline and expected to launch in late 2024. However, there's no clear timeline yet for the iPad Pro update.

Beyond the iPhone SE and iPad, Apple will be refreshing its Mac lineup this year, including Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and iMac, which will feature the M4 processor and be compatible with Apple Intelligence. Furthermore, the M4 chip will be integrated into MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro in 2025.

Based on these leaks, Apple will witness a significant product update wave in 2024 across multiple product lines, including iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers. These new offerings are anticipated to provide users with richer features and experiences, further solidifying Apple's leadership in the technology sector.
