According to Bloomberg, Apple has begun sourcing OLED panels from BOE and other Chinese manufacturers for its next-generation iPhone SE lineup. The publication reported this news in its Tomorrows Headlines section on its website, but the full report hasn't been published yet, so no further details are available.

This news aligns with previous reports that BOE would supply OLED displays for the next-generation iPhone SE. Earlier this week, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported that the fourth-generation iPhone SE will launch "early next year." He anticipates the device to sport a design similar to the iPhone 14, including a notch-equipped all-screen display, suggesting Face ID support.

Gurman also expects the new iPhone SE to support Apple Intelligence, implying a memory bump to 8GB for the device. Apple Intelligence is currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models. If the new iPhone SE is built upon the chassis of the iPhone 14, it will feature a 6.1-inch OLED display, compared to the 4.7-inch LCD display on the current model.

Other rumored features for the next-generation iPhone SE include a USB-C port and an action button. The existing three iPhone SE models were launched in March or April of their respective years.

While the exact release date or pricing information for the next-generation iPhone SE remains unknown, it appears Apple is preparing an upgrade for its entry-level iPhone. An OLED display, a larger screen size, and support for Apple Intelligence will make it a more compelling option for users seeking the latest iPhone features at a more affordable price.
