The highly anticipated iQOO 13 is on the verge of its release, but there are reports suggesting a potential price hike. Recently, a user on social media commented, hoping iQOO 13 would maintain the original price of the iQOO 12. In response, iQOO product manager, Go Blue V, stated that the entire industry has seen price increases.
According to supply chain sources, due to process upgrades and rising manufacturing costs, the price of flagship SoCs from MediaTek and Qualcomm will increase by 15% - 20%. Furthermore, core components like memory, screens, and batteries are also experiencing price hikes to varying degrees. Taking memory as an example, the procurement cost in 2024 is nearly double that of the same period in 2023, exceeding the gold price increase during the same period. This will likely lead to a wave of price increases for flagship phones launched in October.
Despite the price increase, iQOO 13 is expected to boast powerful specifications. It has obtained network access licenses and is fully certified. It features a 2K pure straight screen design, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, supports 120W wired fast charging, and boasts a battery capacity exceeding 6000mAh.
Notably, the Snapdragon 8 Elite delivers a significant performance boost. Compared to its predecessor, the biggest change in this chip is the adoption of its own Oryon CPU architecture, replacing the Arm public version. This architecture was designed by the NUVIA team. In terms of specifications, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite utilizes a 2+6 architecture design, with a CPU clock speed exceeding 4GHz, marking the highest clock speed for a Qualcomm 5G mobile chip. Its multi-core performance surpasses 10,000, outperforming the competitor, A18 Pro.
Although price increases are an industry trend, the upgraded configuration and performance of the iQOO 13 remain exciting. The final price of the device will have to wait for official confirmation.
