As the launch date for Qualcomm's next-generation flagship Snapdragon processor approaches, leaks about its debut devices are becoming more frequent. Recently, several renderings of the Xiaomi 15 Pro have surfaced, revealing details about its design and specifications.

Based on the leaked renderings, the Xiaomi 15 Pro will be available in at least three classic colorways: black, white, and silver. It is expected to also launch in a titanium color variant. While maintaining the design aesthetics of its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15 Pro introduces some refinements: It continues to feature a quad-curved display, a rectangular rear camera module, but the straight-edged frame has been broadened, and the LED flash has been moved outside the camera island.

According to previous leaks, the standard Xiaomi 15 will feature a 1.5K straight screen, while the Pro version will offer a 2K full-depth slightly curved display. Both models will adopt a centered punch-hole screen design and feature 8TLTPO technology, supporting adaptive refresh rates ranging from 1-120Hz. Notably, TCL Huaxing officially announced that its upcoming C9 screen will deliver enhanced color performance and higher brightness. Although Huaxing hasn't revealed the debut device for the C9 screen, considering the precedent of the Xiaomi 13 series using Huaxing C7 and the 14 series featuring Huaxing C8, speculation suggests that the Xiaomi 15 series will adopt the new Huaxing C9 screen, providing users with a superior visual experience.

In terms of imaging, the Xiaomi 15 Pro's telephoto lens will see an upgrade. Blogger @Experiencemore recently revealed: "The telephoto lens on the Mi 15 Pro has been upgraded to a 120mm IMX858, which translates to 5X zoom. It's a similar upgrade to what we saw from the iPhone 15 Pro to 16 Pro. Some people prefer 3X zoom, as it's great for both photos and videos. It's a matter of personal preference. Some prefer long-range zoom." This implies that the Xiaomi 15 Pro's telephoto sensor will undergo an upgrade. Specifically, the Xiaomi 15 Pro's rear camera setup might encompass a 50MP LightFusion900 (f/1.4 aperture) main camera + 50MP ultra-wide camera + 50MP Sony IMX858 5X telephoto lens (focal length: 30cm), supported by the latest AI large model super-resolution algorithm. The Xiaomi 15 standard version, positioned at a slightly lower tier, will likely sport a 50MP ultra-large sensor and a vertical telephoto lens.

Performance-wise, the Xiaomi 15 series will be powered by Qualcomm's new flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This chip adopts a 2+6 architecture design, with two super-large cores clocked at 4.32GHz and six large cores operating at 3.53GHz, showcasing a significant improvement compared to the previous generation Snapdragon 8 Gen3 at 3.3GHz. Furthermore, the Snapdragon 8 Elite boasts a 35% increase in single-core performance and a 30% improvement in multi-core performance. It also introduces a new GPU frame interpolation technology, supporting simultaneous super-resolution and super-frame rate for games, claiming to replace external dedicated graphics chips, delivering a gaming experience comparable to native high frame rates. Overall, the Snapdragon 8 Elite exhibits stronger performance advantages in multi-core application scenarios, promising users a smoother and more immersive graphical processing experience.

Previously, Lei Jun, President of Xiaomi Group, hinted that the Xiaomi 15 series will leverage the Xiaomi Pengpai OS 2.0 system and the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor to deliver an AI experience encompassing "people, cars, and homes."

Regarding the price point, which everyone is curious about, Lei Jun mentioned at the Xiaomi 14 launch that the Xiaomi 14 would be the last Xiaomi digital flagship phone starting at 3999 yuan. In the future, Xiaomi will no longer be confined to this price segment. The price adjustment for the Xiaomi 15 series is primarily attributed to the increased cost associated with TSMC's 3nm manufacturing process, resulting in the upcoming processor being roughly 20% more expensive than its predecessor. This implies that while the Xiaomi 15 prioritizes upgrades in AI and performance, it will also offer more comprehensive ecological interactions, but the starting price will surpass the 3999 yuan mark.
