As October 2024 approaches, smartphone manufacturers are gearing up to unveil their latest flagship devices. iQOO is no exception, with product manager Go Lan V sharing numerous pre-launch details about the iQOO 13 series, lifting the veil on this upcoming flagship.
Powerful Performance: Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Takes the Lead, 100W Fast Charging Supports
The iQOO 13 will be powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship platform, rumored to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, delivering a significant performance upgrade. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 features a 2+6 core architecture, with two super-large cores clocking in at 4.32GHz and six large cores at 3.53GHz, a massive improvement compared to the previous generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Additionally, the iQOO 13 will support 100W PPS fast charging, providing users with a quick and convenient charging experience.
Comprehensive Upgrade: Ultrasonic Fingerprint, 2K Screen, IP68 Protection All Included
Beyond its powerful performance, the iQOO 13 will feature several comprehensive upgrades. Pre-launch information indicates it will adopt a "higher-positioned fingerprint solution," likely to be the more advanced ultrasonic fingerprint technology. On the screen front, the iQOO 13 will sport a 2K straight screen, with extremely narrow bezels, reaching the limits of 2K screen bezels. Furthermore, the middle frame will no longer be a straight-edged design, but a straight-edged frame with large rounded corners, ensuring a more comfortable grip.
It's worth noting that this screen will debut BOE's latest generation of light-emitting materials, achieving significant advancements in display effects, eye protection technology, outdoor brightness, and control experience. Compared to the previous generation, BOE's latest generation of light-emitting materials boasts a 12.5% increase in global peak brightness, a 33% increase in lifespan, a 10% reduction in power consumption, and a reduction in color shift by over 50% in extreme temperature environments.
Imaging Prowess: 50MP Triple Camera, Supports 2x Optical Zoom
In terms of imaging, the iQOO 13 will feature a triple 50MP rear camera setup, consisting of a Sony IMX921 main camera, Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide-angle lens, and Sony IMX826 telephoto lens. Compared to the iQOO 12's 1/1.31-inch OmniVision VCSOV50H main camera and 64MP OV64B periscope telephoto lens, the iQOO 13 sees upgrades in both the main camera and telephoto lens, with support for 2x optical zoom. Additionally, the iQOO 13 will continue the design of a metal middle frame and glass body, equipped with single-point ultrasonic in-display fingerprint, large X-axis linear motor, and IP68 dust and water resistance, comprehensively enhancing the user experience.
Imminent Launch: All Certifications Complete, Closer Than Ever to Official Debut
Currently, the iQOO 13 has passed various certifications, with all approvals in place, bringing its official launch closer than ever. Based on current leaks, the iQOO 13 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 flagship platform, featuring a 6-series silicon battery and support for 120W super fast charging. This new device will only be available in a standard version, with no Pro variant, and its design will be similar to its predecessor.
The iQOO 12 launched last November, starting at 3999 yuan. In terms of configuration, it features a 6.78-inch 1.5K straight screen with up to 144Hz refresh rate, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a self-developed Q1 gaming chip, a 5000mAh equivalent battery, and 120W super fast charging support.
The iQOO 13 inherits the legacy of the iQOO 12 and builds upon it with comprehensive upgrades, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, 100W fast charging, and new technologies like ultrasonic fingerprint and 2K screen, promising users a more powerful performance experience. Let's wait and see how the iQOO 13 will make its stunning debut.
