iPhone 16 Pro Demand Remains Strong, Shipping Times Stable, Apple's High-End Device Share Expected to Rise
According to a recent report by market research firm TechInsights, Apples iPhone 16 Pro models continue to experience strong demand in the third week of their launch window, with shipping times remaining relatively stable. Compared to the iPhone 15 series in 2023, this years shipping times have shortened.
TechInsights reviewed the delivery situation of the four iPhone 16 models across five major markets: China, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and India. The results show that, except for Japan, the shipping times for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus in the other four countries have shortened, down from 7-10 business days a week prior. In contrast, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have longer delivery times, indicating increased demand for these models in the key markets.
TechInsights notes that while shipping times for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus continue to shorten in the third week of the launch window, demand for the Pro series remains strong in key markets. In most countries, shipping times for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have not changed, while shipping times in China have even increased, now approaching the 35-day record set by the 15 Pro Max last year.
Typically, shipping times for all models generally shorten significantly week by week. The current shipping situation for the iPhone 16 Pro models is unusual. TechInsights suggests this could signal a future shift in Apples shipments towards a higher proportion of high-end devices.
Today, influenced by this news, Apple concept stocks in Hong Kong surged. As of press time, Sunny Optical Technology rose as much as 8.17%, currently up 0.73%, while BYD Electronics rose as much as 4.75%, currently up 0.16%.
In a research report on September 26, TF Securities believes that the shorter initial wait times for the new iPhone 16 models are partly due to supply-side disruptions in the same period last year, and there is no need for excessive pessimism about demand in the short term. They predict that new phone sales this year will be close to last year, with a higher proportion of high-end models being popular overall, and they remain optimistic about the positive impact of Apple's three-year innovation cycle on the performance of Apple's supply chain.
In a research report on October 7, GF Securities stated that AI is empowering consumer electronics, potentially driving new replacement demand, and they remain optimistic about AI-driven innovation, the recovery of consumer electronics demand, and localized control, focusing on the semiconductor recovery and valuation repair beneficiaries in the industry chain.
The robust demand for the iPhone 16 Pro further reinforces Apples leading position in the high-end market and demonstrates consumers' preference for high-performance, high-quality products. This trend also points to Apple's future product strategy, and it is expected that Apple will place more emphasis on the research and development and production of high-end models to meet growing market demand and further enhance its competitive advantage in the high-end market.
Simultaneously, the stable shipping times of the iPhone 16 Pro reflect the strong strength of Apple's supply chain, which can effectively respond to changes in market demand and ensure timely product supply.
In conclusion, the strong demand for the iPhone 16 Pro and Apple's future adjustments in its high-end market strategy will have a positive impact on the overall development of Apple's business.
