At the 2024 vivo Developer Conference held on October 10th, vivo officially unveiled its industry-first kilometer-level off-grid communication technology based on Bluetooth. This innovative technology enables point-to-point voice calls and text transmission exceeding 1500 meters in remote areas without network coverage, ensuring seamless communication for users engaged in activities such as hiking or camping.
More importantly, through the relay capability of communication relay technology, the technology can also double the maximum transmission distance of text broadcasts for SOS signals. vivo officially stated that the kilometer-level off-grid communication technology will be first launched on the X200 series in the form of a walkie-talkie application, with some original system 5 models also being rolled out during the public beta.
Jia Jingdong, vivo's Vice President and General Manager of Brand and Product Strategy, previously mentioned that the technology's highlight is providing users with a reliable communication solution in outdoor scenarios without network coverage.
