Recently, digital blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be upgraded with a 200MP super-large sensor periscope telephoto lens, offering significantly better light gathering compared to its competitors.
According to leaks, both the Pro and Ultra versions of the Xiaomi 15 series will feature periscope lenses, while the Ultra version will be exclusive to the 200MP periscope lens, modeled after the Samsung ISOCELL HP9. This lens boasts a 100mm focal length and supports optical image stabilization.
The Samsung ISOCELL HP9 boasts a 1/1.4-inch large sensor and a high resolution of 200MP. Using a 4x4 pixel merging technology, it can output clear and bright 12MP photos even in low-light conditions, with a single pixel size reaching 2.24m. Compared to its predecessor, the HP9 has a 12% improvement in sensitivity and a 10% improvement in contrast performance for autofocus, resulting in more vibrant colors and more accurate focusing in captured images.
Apart from the 200MP periscope telephoto lens, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will also be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor, equipped with a 2K full-depth micro-curved screen, and support ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanning. Notably, Digital Chat Station also revealed that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to launch after the Chinese New Year.
