Motorola has announced a lineup of new MotoAI features designed to enhance the smartphone experience. MotoAI, which debuted at the Lenovo TechWorld event in 2023, previously added two features MotoMagicCanvas and StyleSync to the Razr 2024 series. At this year's Lenovo TechWorld 2024, Motorola stated, "MotoAI fuels our mission to revolutionize the smartphone user experience, focusing on three core areas: Assist, Capture, and Create. This means MotoAI can take action to help users accomplish tasks effortlessly, empower them to capture the world around them and recall it readily, and equip them with tools to unlock their creativity."
These new MotoAI features will be rolled out later this year as part of an invite-only beta program. Powered by a Large Action Model (LAM), MotoAI allows users to interact with the AI assistant using natural language. This capability extends to everyday tasks, with future MotoAI updates aiming to automate day-to-day routines.
Motorola showcased three new MotoAI tools: "CatchMeUp," "PayAttention," and "RememberThis." Using the "CatchMeUp" prompt, users can have MotoAI summarize personal communications, saving time and eliminating the need for endless scrolling through notifications. "PayAttention" can help users recall specific information or details without having to write them down or listen through lengthy recordings to unearth the specifics. It can record conversations or speeches, which MotoAI then transcribes for later use. The "RememberThis" feature captures live moments or screen information with a simple command. It operates similarly to the Google Pixel Screenshot app, utilizing AI to generate content and details about the captured moment. Notably, the created memories are stored locally and secured within the device.
During the beta launch phase, Motorola will incorporate user feedback to fine-tune the functionality and performance of MotoAI. This move signifies a significant step for Motorola in integrating AI into the smartphone experience, promising a more convenient, efficient, and personalized user experience.
