Technology media outlet SamMobile published a blog post yesterday (October 16th) reporting that the Samsung Galaxy A36 has appeared on the GeekBench benchmark database, confirming that it will be shipped with Android 15 and support 5G network connectivity. This leaked Galaxy A36 model, identified as "SM-A336B," scored 316 points in the single-core test and 1455 points in the multi-core test on GeekBench 6.2.2.
According to the benchmark database page, the phone has a motherboard codenamed "parrot" and is equipped with an octa-core CPU. This CPU comprises four high-performance cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four energy-efficient cores operating at 1.8GHz. The chipset is also paired with an Adreno 710 GPU, suggesting it might be either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip, both of which are manufactured using a 4nm process.
It's noteworthy that Samsung previously promised six major Android OS updates for the Galaxy A16 5G, and the Galaxy A36 is expected to receive the same level of software support, potentially reaching Android 21 in the future.
Besides the core hardware configuration, SamMobile has also made some predictions about other specs of the Galaxy A36. The media expects it to feature a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with improved screen brightness and thinner bezels. In terms of cameras, it's expected to have a 32MP front-facing camera and a 12MP ultrawide rear camera.
The exact release date and price of the Samsung Galaxy A36 haven't been revealed yet, but its appearance on various platforms suggests that its official launch shouldn't be far off. With its upgraded configuration and enhanced software support, this new A series phone is likely to attract more consumers.
