Following the official announcement that the OnePlus 13 will be officially released on October 31st, the brand has been ramping up pre-release hype by revealing some configuration parameters and exterior information of the new phone. Based on the pre-release information, the OnePlus 13 will bring a number of technological breakthroughs and new experiences, including a second-generation Oriental Screen and new Hasselblad imaging. It is said to have outstanding performance in system experience, gaming performance, screen display and eye protection, battery life and charging, and imaging capabilities.
In terms of design details, Li Jie, CEO of OnePlus China, stated in a post, "The front of the OnePlus 13 adopts a new design of 'congruent deep soft-edge straight screen,' offering the advantages of a straight screen, eliminating accidental touches during gaming, and also providing the comfortable feel of a curved screen. The middle frame is specially designed with a 'super narrow micro-arc middle frame,' which is rounded on both sides, fits comfortably in the palm, and feels comfortable even for one-handed holding." At the same time, the biggest change in the exterior of the new phone is the rear camera module, which has abandoned the hinge design for a large circular camera module. A dividing line has been added to the right of the lens, with the Hasselblad logo above the line.
The poster shows that the OnePlus 13 is 10g lighter and 0.65mm thinner than the previous generation. As a reference, the OnePlus 12 is 9.15mm thick and weighs 220g. This means that the OnePlus 13 has reduced the weight and thickness of the whole phone while enhancing performance, making it thinner and lighter.
According to blogger @Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 13 comes in two materials: the glass version is 8.5mm thick and weighs 213g, while the leather version is 8.8mm thick and weighs 210g. When a commenter asked, "Which is better, leather or glass?" the blogger replied, "Definitely glass. This time, both black and white look great, it's a frosted glass that doesn't attract fingerprints." This is good news for those who prefer glass bodies but are worried about fingerprints.
Based on recent pre-release information, the OnePlus 13 will be the first to feature the second-generation Oriental Screen, paired with the self-developed screen chip P2, which can improve brightness, color uniformity, and reduce ghosting. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip, offering a 24GB+1TB version. It will be equipped with a 6000mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The front camera will be a 16MP selfie lens, and the rear main camera will be a 50MP LYT808 sensor, with a periscope telephoto lens. It will be equipped with a 0916T motor, support IP68/69 dust and water resistance, and feature ultrasonic fingerprint recognition.
In terms of interaction, the OnePlus 13 will come pre-installed with ColorOS 15, which features the Aurora Engine, adding a separate notification center and control center. The system-level AI "Super Xiaobu Assistant" is being launched, supporting one-click question screen, one-click question, one-click search, picture question and answer, document question and answer, and other interactive methods. The new OPPO document app will also be released. In terms of actual usage, Li Jie stated, "ColorOS 15 completely restructures the Android rendering framework, bringing an ultra-smooth experience from system resource scheduling to animation."
In addition to the OnePlus 13, some accessories will also be launched at the same time. Among them, the OnePlus SUPERVOOC All-Round Charger 120W dual-port charging set adopts the classic red and white color scheme of OnePlus, and the charger provides two interfaces: USB-A and USB-C. The OnePlus Extreme Wood 100W power bank has already appeared on the official website, adopting a splicing design and offering USB-C/A dual interfaces, and is expected to support 100W flash charging. The OnePlus magnetic small vortex adopts a pure white shell design (with a red accent in the center) and supports AIRVOOC 50W wireless charging.
As the OnePlus new product launch event draws closer, more information will be released. Stay tuned!
