Xiaomi's Major Press Conference Approaching: Xiaomi 15 Series, Surge OS 2, and SU7 Ultra Production Version to Debut
On October 24th, Xiaomi's official Weibo account announced that the highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 series, Xiaomi Surge OS 2, and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra production version will be officially released on October 29th at 7 pm. This press conference is of great significance, marking a new starting point for Xiaomi's development, and it will bring users a series of exciting technological breakthroughs.
The Xiaomi 15 series, the highlight of the press conference, will be the first to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship processor. This processor achieves a significant leap in performance, with a 40% increase in CPU single-core performance, a 42% increase in multi-core performance, a 44% increase in GPU peak performance, and a 25% improvement in energy efficiency. Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing stated that the new flagship platform, combined with the fully optimized Surge OS, will provide users with an even more extreme experience; the Xiaomi 15 series will achieve a qualitative leap in performance.
The highly anticipated Surge OS 2 will also be fully unveiled at the press conference. Lu Weibing is confident that Surge OS 2 will showcase excellent performance, providing users with a smoother and more intelligent experience. Notably, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun had previously announced at a press conference that the Xiaomi 14 series would be the last digital flagship phone with a starting price of 3999 yuan. In the future, Xiaomi will no longer be limited by this price range, focusing on launching more competitive products to provide users with more options.
In addition to the Xiaomi 15 series and Surge OS 2, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra production version will also debut at the press conference. This model retains the core configuration of the prototype car, including the chassis structure, electric drive system, and battery pack. It adopts a V8s+V8s+V6s three-motor configuration, boasting 1548 horsepower and equipped with the second-generation Kirin battery for powerful performance. Based on the performance data of the prototype car, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra production version will achieve a 0-100km/h acceleration time of only 1.97 seconds, a 0-200km/h acceleration time of 5.96 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 350km/h. The production version's performance is expected to be similar to the prototype.
Unlike the prototype, the production version will not feature an all-carbon design, instead offering regular and track versions. It is reported that the cost of an all-carbon body design is too high, potentially pushing the vehicle price to tens of millions. Additionally, to ensure driving safety, the power output for new users will be gradually unlocked based on their driving skills, ensuring safe driving. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed that the price of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra production version will be slightly higher than regular models but not excessively expensive. Currently, pre-orders for the model have been opened, and interested consumers can stay tuned.
Xiaomi's press conference covers multiple areas, including phones, operating systems, and smart cars, demonstrating Xiaomi's ambition in the field of technology. This press conference is expected to surprise consumers and usher in a new chapter in Xiaomi's development.
