A few days ago, ASUS officially announced that the new ROG Phone 9 series will be officially released on November 19th, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip, and claiming to deliver a better AI gaming experience. Currently, information about the new phone's design, accessories, and specifications has been gradually revealed. Combining rendered images and related leaks, the ROG Phone 9 series continues the overall style of its predecessor in terms of design, but the ROG logo has removed its RGB lighting, only the ROG text at the bottom has lighting.

The new phone adopts a metal mid-frame + glass back design, and is available in Storm White and Phantom Black. It is equipped with AirTriggers (trigger buttons), which have improved accuracy and sensitivity, enhancing players' gaming control experience. The new phone weighs 227g and measures 163.876.88.9mm. It features a 6.78-inch Samsung flexible LTPO AMOLED screen with a resolution of 24001080, and supports 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The system settings allow you to boost it to 165Hz, or achieve 185Hz in Game Genie mode. It supports Always-on Display, has a peak brightness of up to 2500 nits, supports HDR10, DCI-P3 color gamut coverage of 107.37%, sRGB color gamut coverage of 145.65%, NTSC color gamut coverage of 103.16%, and is equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus protection and an under-display fingerprint sensor.

The rear camera module of the ROG Phone 9 series retains the stepped, five-sided design and integrates three cameras and a flash, including a 50MP main camera + 13MP OmniVision OV13B10 ultra-wide-angle lens + 5MP macro lens. The main camera may still be the Sony IMX890 sensor, supporting OIS optical image stabilization and up to 8K video recording. Meanwhile, the iconic RGB "ROG Eye" LED lighting effect is retained and supports user-defined lighting modes.

In terms of performance, the ROG Phone 9 series is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip. While effectively reducing power consumption, the overall performance is expected to increase by 30% compared to the previous generation. The standard version will come with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS4.0 storage. It features a built-in 5800mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging and PD charging. Based on the dual-battery system + new-generation matrix liquid cooling architecture, it can effectively reduce the heat generated during gameplay. Additionally, the ROG Phone 9 series has a second USB Type-C port on the side of the phone, supporting landscape charging without affecting players' grip during gaming.

The new phone also runs ROG UI based on Android 15 and GameGenie, supporting multiple features such as AI capture, AI camera, AI object recognition, and more. In other aspects, the ROG Phone 9 series supports IP68 dust and water resistance, stereo dual speakers, full-function NFC, WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 5.3.

As a reference, the ROG Phone 8 was officially released in January this year, with standard and Pro versions available, both in Obsidian Black and Storm Gray colors, priced from 4799 yuan. It features a 6.78-inch Samsung E6 165Hz flexible screen with a peak brightness of 2500 nits and covering 111% DCI-P3 color gamut. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, with the Pro version offering up to 24GB LPDDR5X + 1T UFS4.0 storage. The standard version features a rear 50MP main camera (IMX890) + 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, while the Pro version adds a 32MP telephoto lens (3x optical zoom).
