Google Pixel 11 Expected to Feature Upgraded Night Sight Mode with Enhanced Local Processing Power
Google released the Pixel 9 series in August this year, which was much earlier than the companys usual October launch for its flagship phones. Despite the early release, the Pixel 9 series featured a refreshing revamp in terms of design and processor. However, it still shipped with last years Android 14 update. Now, rumors suggest that Googles Pixel 11 will come equipped with an upgraded Night Sight mode with the entire processing handled locally thanks to TSMCs 2nm Tensor G6 chip.
Google is expected to release the Pixel 10 series in August next year, and ahead of the launch, weve already heard details about its successor, the Pixel 11. While the Pixel 10 is rumored to receive upgrades in hardware and software, the Pixel 11 is expected to bring significant upgrades in terms of features and internal structure. According to Kamila Wojciechowska of AndroidAuthority, the Pixel 11 will feature ultra low light video, likely part of the companys Night Sight capabilities.
The Night Sight feature allows users to capture enhanced photos and videos in extreme low light conditions at night. Currently, the feature is limited to photo mode, but Google seems to be enabling video compatibility soon. Not only this, Google is planning to utilize on-device AI to reduce users reliance on cloud-based video enhancement features. This means the new enhanced Night Sight video mode will be processed locally on the device. This will be a remarkable improvement considering video processing requires significant power consumption from the device.
Recent reports suggest that Google will rely on TSMCs 2nm chip technology to power the Tensor G6 chip in the Pixel 6 series, further enhancing the processing power on device. This will bring computational and graphical improvements for future Pixels.
Overall, the Pixel 11 is expected to see notable advancements in Night Sight mode, local processing capabilities, and chip technology. These upgrades will lead to a more powerful and intelligent smartphone experience for users.
