According to an official press release from Apple, the company is expanding its artificial intelligence system, AppleIntelligence, and plans to support multiple languages including Chinese in April 2025.
The initial features of AppleIntelligence were released with the free software updates for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1. Currently, the system is only supported in certain countries and regions and requires both the device language and Siri language to be set to US English. Apple plans to gradually add support for more languages in the near future, including native English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK.
Starting next April, AppleIntelligence will support more languages through software updates, including Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
Currently, AppleIntelligence is only supported on iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad devices equipped with A17 Pro, M1, or later chips, and Mac devices equipped with M1 or later chips.
According to Apple's press release, AppleIntelligence will be deeply integrated into the iOS system to offer users an exceptional experience, including system-wide WritingTools, a more natural and fluent Siri interaction, and a more intelligent Photos app.

Mac users in the EU can now set Siri's language to US English to access AppleIntelligence features.
