Apple Intelligence officially launches: iPhone, iPad, and Mac will be equipped with a "system-wide AI writing assistant"
On Monday, Apple released the official update for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, officially launching the highly anticipated Apple Intelligence feature. This new feature will bring a "system-wide AI writing assistant" to iPhone, iPad, and Mac users, supporting one-click summarization, text proofreading, suggestions for word choice and text structure, and even the ability to remove unwanted people or objects from photos with a single click.
However, this feature is currently only available to English users. Chinese users and a large number of non-English users around the world are unable to experience the charm of Apple AI for now. According to Apple's plan, Apple AI functionality will add localized English support to the UK, Australia, and other countries in December. Apple AI in Chinese, Indian English, French, German, Japanese, and other languages will be rolled out next year.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said during his visit to China last week: "We are working hard to promote (Apple AI), which requires a very specific regulatory process. We need to go through this process and hope to bring it to Chinese consumers as soon as possible."
The launch of Apple AI signifies Apple's entry into the AI writing assistant competition, and its powerful capabilities have sparked industry excitement.
