Tencent applies for patent on blockchain transaction processing to enhance efficiency
On October 29, 2024, the National Intellectual Property Administration of China disclosed that Tencent Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. has filed a patent application titled "Method, Device, Equipment and Medium for Transaction Processing in Blockchain," with publication number CN118822529A, filed in April 2023.
This patent aims to enhance transaction processing efficiency in blockchain networks. The core method is executed by validation nodes participating in the consensus and collaborates with the master node responsible for creating data blocks. Specifically, after the transactions included in the data block are executed in the master node, the validation nodes extract the transactions to be verified and perform verification processing. If the transaction contains off-chain execution logic, the validation node verifies both the transaction itself and its execution result in the master node, ultimately reaching the corresponding verification result for the transaction. It's noteworthy that the execution result of the transaction is obtained by the off-chain service device processing the transaction sent by the master node. Finally, based on the verification result corresponding to each transaction, the validation node determines its consensus voting information for the data block.
A key advantage of this patented technology lies in avoiding repetitive execution of transactions by nodes within the blockchain network, thereby significantly improving transaction execution efficiency. In traditional blockchain networks, each node needs to execute transactions independently, leading to resource waste and low efficiency. Tencent's patent introduces an off-chain service device and a collaborative mechanism with the master node, distributing the transaction execution process and avoiding repetitive calculations, thus enhancing overall efficiency.
Currently, this patent is still in the public disclosure stage and has not yet been granted. However, its technological innovation and potential value have already garnered widespread attention within the industry. As blockchain technology continues to develop and application scenarios expand, efficient transaction processing mechanisms will become increasingly crucial. This patent by Tencent has the potential to lay a solid foundation for the application of blockchain technology and promote its adoption in more areas.
